Armenian Chess Club has been established in October 2016 by the group of parents from the Armenian Sunday School with the support of Armenian Honorary Consulate in Ireland. Club is a chess home for 20 kids, aged 5-14, who are enjoying a chess in nice and friendly environment. Junior classes are led by Scott Mulligan every Sunday from 3–4.30 PM at St. Hripsime Armenian Sunday School, Taney Parish Centre, 21 Taney Rd, Drummartin, Dublin 14 (MAP).
Club members are actively participating in various junior tournaments in Dublin and throughout the country showing excellent results. Recently club members participated in 2017 CPL Irish juniors competition and took 2nd and 3rd places on 2017 CPL Irish juniors competition in U8, U12, U14 categories. That was the first such major competition for Armenian Chess club and we proud to state that almost all participants from the club received “The Outstanding Performance Award” for demonstrating excellent results on the first completion of such a scale.
