LCU Grand Prix 2017/18 – 2nd Event Report

Yesterday Armenian Chess Club hosted 2nd event of the Leinster Chess Grand Prix 2017/18 at the Taney Parish Centre, home for the Armenian Sunday School and Chess Club. It was a great pleasure and a big challenge for the club hosting one of the most amazing juniors chess competition. We want to express our gratitude to all the volunteer parents for organising all so well. Special thanks to Vahe and Karen who came with an idea of hosting Grand Prix event, and for running it very smoothly, and, of course, to Seda and Liana for providing us with snacks and hot beverages on this cold day 🙂 Many thanks to you, guys!!!

Back to the competition, our juniors did great as usual, Gagik Avetisyan and Alik Paronyan won a grading medals finishing 5th in U15 and U10 sections respectively. Albert Shahumyan, who played in the Grand Prix for the very first time, got another grading medal for the team in U12 section with a very solid result.

Congratulations to Milena Mkrtchyan and Hayk Avetisyan with their 3rd place trophies in U12 and U10 sections, and to Arsen Hakhumyan who was the best among U8 participants, finishing 11th in U10 section.

Well done guys!!!
