So far another term came to the end at the Armenian Chess Club. There were many achievements for the club and our juniors throughout the year that made all of us feel very proud.
During this term the club have started a new section for more advanced players and we are happy that Ravshan Khaydarov took over the class, while Scott Mulligan continues doing his great job with the beginners class. In November the club hosted a first-ever tournament under the roof of the Armenian Sunday School – a wonderfull Leinster Juniors Grand Prix event, opening the door for more daring plans for the upcoming year.
On Sunday, the club gathered for the last time this year to celebrate the upcoming Christmas and recognise our juniors for their achievements and performance throughout the term. And so, ladies and gentleman, welcome our heroes:
Most improved players of the term: Nara Paronyan, Edgar Mikaelyan, Hayk Avetisyan, Andrea Jude
Our puzzle master: Ilona Mkrtchyan
And the term tournament winners:
1st place – Gagik Avetisyan
2nd place – Ilona Mkrtchyan
3rd place – Danny Kashanin
Well done guys, you made the club PROUD!!! Keep up hard work and see you all next term commencing on January 7, 2018. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
